The main part in a bird's nourishment should contain grain blend. But the composition of the mixture must be of various crops (wheat, oats, millet, maize and so on) and seeds (canary seed, herbage seeds, seeds of lettuce) because it is highly important to keep your bird robust. Also you may add there different oil-yielding seeds such as sunflower seeds, poppy seeds, hemp seeds and various nuts. Also you may include in the mixture a large variety of greeneries, fruits, vegetables, wild herbage, fresh leaves and branches of trees. Animal forage should be added to a bird's meal as a source of proteins. You can give your bird boiled hen's eggs, fatless cottage cheese and small amount of minced meat. The periods of feeding with such meal are various. For a usual bird it should be given one time a week, for a bird that has moult period - twice a week and in the period of nestling - every second day. Pieces of chalk or small stones should be also included in an extra feeder in a bird's cage. They contain calcium and important for normal digestion of a bird.
